Update to Moms Event, Please Read!

I am so excited to share the collection of homeschooling resources I have gathered. I have put together a 44 page slideshow to present.

Because of the new state Covid mandates regarding indoor gatherings and because it is supposed to be unbelievably hot on Saturday, I am going to change the format to Zoom. If you were signed up to come in person Saturday, please note this change. This makes me so sad to do this because we all need in person mom time! So I am going to offer an August in person, outdoor option on Friday August 7 at 7:00!

On the bright side, this new, in person date is a great opportunity to take in all the information through my Zoom presentation then gather together in two week for an  IN PERSON moms evening. This will allow all of you to reflect on the information I will present this week (you will still be able to ask and answer questions during our Zoom time). It will also be after the schools make their announcements next week, giving you time to use this information to dive deeper into what will work for your family best.

To sum up, here’s a list of the updates to the events:

It is not too late to sign up for any of these! And invite a friend.

Mom’s Event: All You Need to Know about Homeschooling to Get You Started

Are you up in the air for what to do for your children’s schooling this year?

Mom friends who would like to explore homeschooling and ask questions about how homeschooling works in Minnesota, I have a fun event planned for you!

Many of you know that I homeschool our girls, write and edit curriculum, and offer tutoring and annual Peabody testing. I have been involved in homeschooling children since 2003, and I have met some of the most genuine, kind, and successful kids during that time. No matter what the MN Dept. of Ed. ends up recommending for the upcoming school year, it will definitely not be “back to normal.”

This will be a time of Q&A. We will cover the following topics:

  • Getting started
  • Minnesota laws
  • Styles and curriculum
  • Schedule and organization
  • Homeschooling while working
  • Teaching multiple children
  • Teaching littles
  • Teaching special needs
  • Support and community
  • Online resources
  • Good and Beautiful Books

Attendees will receive:

  • presentation packet
  • digital download of presentation packet with clickable links
  • a chance to win one of my authored books

Current Event Dates: (with the possibility of an August date)

  • Saturday, July 25 at 3:00 pm in person Zoom
  • Wednesday, July 29 at 6:30 pm in person
  • Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 online Zoom meeting

In person events are in my backyard in Lakeville. You will receive a confirmation email the week of the event with my address and login information for Zoom.

Feel free to share this registration with friends.

**Please note: I love our children, but for this event please arrange for care for your children so we can focus on planning for them. (My girls will be gone too.)
